The Kola Division develops deposits located within a 25 km stretch between Nikel and Zapolyarny in the west of the Murmansk Region. The Division mines disseminated copper-nickel sulphide ores containing nickel, copper, and other valuable metals.
The Zhdanovskoye, Zapolyarnoye, Bystrinskoye, Tundrovoye, Sputnik, and Verkhneye deposits have been developed by the Severny Mine since the 1930s.
