    Two of Nornickel’s executives received the Top 1000 Russian Managers awards from the Russian Managers Association and Kommersant Publishing House.

    Nornickel’s 2019 Sustainability Report has won gold statuettes at the prestigious international MarCom Awards are based in Dallas, Texas, United States.

    Nornickel won the gold award in the Business Transformation Category at SAP Quality Awards — 2019 in the CIS region for its efforts to roll out SAP ERP across its operations in the Norilsk Industrial District.

    Nornickel was the general partner of the 29th International Winter Universiade that was held in Krasnoyarsk. Nornickel’s role in the organisation of the universiade was highly praised by international federations, participating nations, the event’s managers and top officials of the Russian Federation. The company also received a number of high-profile awards for its work.

  • 2018

    Nornickel signed an agreement on cooperation with the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs (FAEA) aimed at providing support to the indigenous peoples of the North who live in areas where the Company operates.

    Nornickel and BASF signed a long-term agreement to supply nickel and cobalt feedstock from the Company’s Harjavalta refinery. The agreement is part of the Company’s ambitious strategy to step up its exports of battery materials to the global market.

    Nornickel’s contribution to environmental protection received acclaim from the RAEX international agency. The Company scored No. 1 in a ranking of environmental protection expenditures.

    Norilsk Airport completed the runway renovation spanning three summers (2016–2018) amid the airport’s continued operation. This was the first of its kind initiative both in Russia and internationally, with the project delivered on schedule and to the highest quality requirements.

    The Nornickel team received government awards for the construction of a fibre optic communication line to Norilsk. The line has a length of 956 km and a bandwidth of 40 Gbps. Over 90% of the channel’s capacity is allocated to the Taimyr Peninsula. The project’s cost stands at RUB 2.5 bn.

    Nornickel was named on the World’s Most Innovative Companies list by Forbes.

    Vladimir Putin thanked Nornickel for its Year of Environment contributions with a letter of gratitude.

    Nornickel was commended for environmental protection by the Ministry of Natural Resources.

    Nornickel won the 2017 Leaders of Russian Business: Dynamics and Responsibility contest that was organised by the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP), receiving an award in the nomination For High Quality of Reporting on Sustainable Development.
