IX Russian Business Week: Norilsk Nickel Presents its Strategic Projects and Wins RUIE Award for Human Resources Development

An annual event, where participants discuss latest trends of state-and-business cooperation and develop the relevant proposals, is historically hosted by Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RUIE).

The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, RF Vice-Prime ministers, the Federal assembly representatives, heads of ministries, government agencies, and top-managers of major business entities were the participants and guests of the Russian Business Week. MMC Norilsk Nickel was represented by the Company President Vladimir Potanin, Vice-Presidents Elena Bezdenezhnykh, Larisa Zelkova, Andrey Bougrov, and Director for federal and regional programs Dmitry Pristanskov. In the course of the conference and round-table sessions scheduled within the framework of the Week, members of Norilsk Nickel delegation discussed vital problems of fiscal policy, creation of investment environment, development of labor market and social investments.

At the meeting of RUIE steering committee, Norilsk Nickel President Vladimir Potanin spoke of the Company strategic projects, and primarily of the Bystrinsky Mining and Processing Plant under construction in Trans-Baikal region, as well as of the Company dividends policy.

In her turn, Larisa Zelkova made a report on a social forum, themed “Responsible Cooperation of the Business and Authorities to the Benefit of Social Stability”. The social forum was held under the guidance of the RUIE Committee on Corporate Social Responsibility and Demographic Policy and the RUIE Committee on Labor Market and Social Partnership. In her presentation, Norilsk Nickel top manager announced new ways of social policy implementation and summed up the results of “The World of New Opportunities” charitable program. Larisa Zelkova also highlighted projects for Nickel Plant shutting down, the resettlement of the Far North residents to the regions with a more favorable climate, and the construction of fiber-optic communication line (FOCL) from Novy Urengoy to Norilsk.

During the outstanding event, the Company earned the award in all-Russian contest “Russian Business Leaders: Dynamics and Responsibility — 2015”. RUIE President Alexander Shokhin delivered an award to MMC Norilsk Nickel in Human Resources Development category.
