Head of Security Department of MMC Norilsk Nickel Vladislav Gasumyanov was elected Chairman of Security Committee of the International Platinum Group Metals Association (hereinafter — IPA SC). The decision was made unanimously during the session of the Security Committee of IPA that took place in Ludwigshafen am Rhein (Germany) last week. It is for the first time the Russian business representative was appointed as a Chairman of IPA SC.
There are three working committees in IPA structure: Information Committee, Sustainability Committee, and Security Committee. The Security Committee coordinates cooperation on industrial safety, exchange of information and experience on the trafficking of precious metals, the development of mutually acceptable guidelines, procedures and standards for the industry, designed to counter theft, cross-border handling and processing of stolen PGMs raw materials.
International Association of platinum group metals — a nonprofit organization that brings together the world’s major companies (Anglo American Platinum, Impala Platinum, Umicore, Johnson Matthey, Tanaka Kikinzoku International, Lonmin Plc., Heraeus Precious Metals GmbH, MMC Norilsk Nickel), working in mining, processing and production of PGMs (platinum, palladium, iridium, rhodium, osmium, ruthenium). Founded in 1987 in Munich as a forum for information exchange and discussion of current issues in PGMs industry.
