Nornickel announces appointment of Alexander Grubman as Senior Vice-President for Strategy and Business Development

NornickelPublic Joint Stock Company "Mining and Metallurgical Company "Norilsk Nickel” and its subsidiariesGo to the glossary announces the appointment of Alexander Grubman to the position of Senior Vice-President for Strategy and Business Development. He took office on 5 February 2018.

At Nornickel, Mr Grubman will be developing and supporting the CompanyPublic Joint Stock Company "Mining and Metallurgical Company "Norilsk Nickel"Go to the glossary’s strategy and investment policy. He will be responsible for supervising and coordinating due diligence and structuring of M&A deals, restructuring and asset carve-out projects, and creation of joint ventures. In addition, Mr Grubman will be handling strategic analysis of commodity markets and the competitive environment while also coordinating the development of a comprehensive macroeconomic outlook for Nornickel.

Alexander Grubman has 18 years of management experience with major Russian and international companies.

He spent eight years at Coca-Cola Refreshments Moscow, rising from Technical Manager to Plant Director. In 2003–2006, he managed the production and technical departments at Prodo Trade and Unimilk, food production and sales companies. In 2006, Alexander Grubman started his career in the metals sector. In 2006–2013, he held various positions with Severstal GroupPublic Joint Stock Company "Mining and Metallurgical Company "Norilsk Nickel” and its subsidiariesGo to the glossary, including those of CEO of Severstal Resources, Severstal’s Russian Steel Division, Cherepovets Metal Factory, and Deputy CEO of Severstal. Over the last few years, Mr Grubman has been the CEO of Chelyabinsk Pipe-Rolling Plant.

This new appointment at Nornickel is yet another step to building a strong management team of top-tier professionals.
