Nornickel executives lead Russia's Top 1,000 Managers ranking

Since 2001, the Russian Managers Association and Kommersant publishing house have been preparing the annual Top 1,000 Managers ranking to recognise the most outstanding members of Russia’s business community with stellar professional reputation. The ranking, traditionally based on top-level peer review by industry experts, is a valuable tool helping to assess professional reputation of Russian senior executives by analysing their annual performance with a breakdown by industry and area of responsibility.

Top scorers are nominated for the Managers Association’s final award, with the jury comprising members of the Top 1,000 award academy.

The list of this year’s leaders was rich in NornickelPublic Joint Stock Company "Mining and Metallurgical Company "Norilsk Nickel” and its subsidiariesGo to the glossary’s senior officials. Nornickel’s President Vladimir Potanin traditionally featured among the Business Leader nominees. The following executives earned top awards in various categories across the Metals & Mining sector: Sergey Malyshev, the CompanyPublic Joint Stock Company "Mining and Metallurgical Company "Norilsk Nickel"Go to the glossary’s Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (Financial Directors), Larisa Zelkova, Senior Vice President for HR, Social Policy and Public Relations, (Directors for Public Relations and Corporate Communications), Vladimir Zhukov, Vice President (Investor Relations Directors), and Dmitry Pristanskov, State Secretary and Vice President for GR (Government Relations Directors).

Marianna Zakharova, First Vice President for Corporate Governance, Asset Management and Legal Affairs, ranked among Top 50 directors for legal affairs. Anton Berlin, Vice President for Sales and Commerce, was named a Top 100 Marketing Director. Darya Kryachkova, Vice President for HR, was recognised as a Top 100 HR Director. The list of Top 50 Corporate Governance Directors included Nornickel’s Corporate Secretary Pavel Platov.

Svetlana Ivchenko, Head of Nornickel’s Social Policy Department, and Ravil Nasybullov, Head of Logistics Department, were featured among Top 25 Directors for Corporate Social Responsibility and for Logistics and Supply Chains, respectively.

On top of that, the results of the annual Institutional Investor 2020 Emerging EMEA Executive Team survey have been announced. Nornickel was listed among the Most Honoured companies in the EMEA Metals & Mining category.

This year’s ranking is based on a survey of 226 investors (portfolio managers and analysts), as well as 159 analysts from brokers and investment banks. The results are presented in the Buy Side, Sell Side and Combined categories. Out of 380 participating companies, 63 received at least one prize nomination, and 30 ranked No. 1 in at least one nomination and were included in the Most Honoured list.
