Nornickel’s Corporate Social Responsibility Report for 2016 has received prizes in four categories of the prestigious LACP 2016/2017 Vision Awards. Experts crowned it as the best report among major Russian metals and mining companies.
Nornickel’s CSR Report has been ranked among the Top 100 non-financial reports in a Vision Awards report contest held by the League of American Communications Professionals since 2002 among companies from around the globe.
Reports published by companies from 18 countries were appraised in the 2016/2017 contest by eight criteria: first impression, report cover, letter to shareholders, report narrative, report financials, creativity, message clarity and information accessibility.
“Plenty of applications intensified competition, but only every fifth contestant was awarded. The fact that Nornickel is the winner means that the company did a great job and delivered brilliant performance,” commented Tyson Heyn, Principal of LACP.
“Another award won in a prestigious contest is certainly something to be proud of. But the efforts we made are more important than the way it was put on paper,” said Svetlana Ivchenko, Head of the Social Policy Department at MMC Nornickel. “I am convinced that the facts and figures stated in the report impressed the panel no less than the way they were presented.”
Nornickel was already recognised at the LACP Vision Awards in 2015 and 2016. In 2015, it won gold, while the CSR Report for 2014 ranked No. 1 among Russian contestants of the LACP Vision Awards and made it to the Top 10 public non-financial reports globally.
