Russian North: riches of Taimyr multimedia exhibition opened at the Council of the Russian Federation

The Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation has become host to the grand opening the multimedia exposition Russian North: Riches of Taimyr. The exposition showcases all the riches of the Taimyr peninsula: its diverse nature, mineral resources, and the main treasure, namely, people who live and work in the Arctic North.

The exhibition at the Council of the Federation is interactive: visitors can view photos and films with beautiful landscapes, white mountain peaks and transparent lakes, and learn detailed information about the area’s natural resources: extraction volumes and available reserves. Taimyr sits in the top five Russian regions in terms of reserves of mineral resources: PGMPlatinum group metals taken as a whole or in any combination of platinum, palladium, rhodium, ruthenium, osmium and iridiumGo to the glossarys, gold, diamonds, nickel, copper, rhodium, niobium, coal, as well as explored oil, gas and gas-condensate deposits. Geologists estimate that as little as 25% of the peninsula has been explored.
