50,000 medical masks and 30,000 pairs of disposable gloves — yet another charitable donation from Nornickel and Kola MMC — were delivered to the Monchegorsk’s Administration on 20 November. The COVID-19 assistance programme launched by the Company in March is still running. Now, during the second wave of the virus outbreak, this support is highly relevant and valuable.
“Such humanitarian aid from Nornickel and Kola MMC is needed primarily for the city’s residents. Small and mediums enterprises can use it to provide their employees and customers with protective equipment, while social institutions will be able to minimise the risk of their visitors getting infected. The city certainly appreciates the Company’s aid and consistent efforts to mitigate losses in this challenging environment,” said Anatoly Seleznev, First Deputy Head of Monchegorsk Administration.
In total, Nornickel has allocated over RUB 20 bn to combat COVID-19 in its regions of operation. These funds are being used to implement preventive measures at industrial sites, strengthen healthcare infrastructure in the cities where the Company has facilities, and help educational and municipal institutions, businesses and vulnerable population groups.
